That's becuase it's not necesarry... Why is it that every obsessed otaku except me is obsessed with u's and double i's. Heh... Like, the people who would get pissed at me for spelling Ryoko without the u (Ryouko) or Goku with only one u, or other such stuff...
Those extra vowels are there for a reason in Japanese, but the reason is lost when translated to english simply because we don't pronounce things the same way they do. If you wanna get technical, to get the same pronunciation for Goku, we'd have to start spelling it "gokoo" with a line over the two o's...

ive watched the series loved it .. went along and tried to find out what the name actually was .. i cant seem to find an absolute answer .. if its a R or L .. kinda like the idea about alucard being dracula being spelled backwards .. of course ... it could be even a variation of the 2 names .. never could tell .. maybe a native japaneese speaker could?
