Popular anime series in Widescreen?

Postby x_rex30 » Wed Dec 26, 2007 9:10 pm

Examples..

GITS SAC
Samurai Champloo

90 % of the time when I check out a high rated or very popular anime series it is in full screen. I would like to know of some popular shows, mainly ones that have been released state side that are in widescreen format. If anyone could help I'd appreciate it.

Clannad, Lucky Star, Haruhi are all widescreen.

And let's not forget about Higurashi!

That's one I've been meaning to check out. Didn't know it's widescreen. I'll probably get it whenever they release a box set of all the eps in the US.

That may never happen, you know, because of the whole Geneon situation.
But the first three are excelent, by the way; they literally make the TV series look like crap. Fourth one promises to be epic, too.

Not counting the theatrical releases (like Studio Ghibli's stuff), there's

Air
Kanon 2006
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid
Ah! My Goddess TV s1 & s2
Samurai 7
Burst Angel
Last Exile
Chobits
Mahoromatic
Planetes
Having trouble playing back videos? I recommend: Image

I did get FMP Second Raid and haven't watched it yet, I'll try to get around to watching that. I have Burst Angel, haven't watched it yet, but just found out yesterday it's in widescreen, was thinking after finding that out that I must watch that. Need to check out Mahoromatic. That's awesome I love the original Ah! My Goddess. I will definitely have to check the new one out sometime. I knew about Samurai 7 though I actually decided the series isn't so great after watching a few eps. I forgot Last Exile was widescreen. Have only seen like 5 eps... need to finish that series.

anyway, thanks for the help Willen.
