What are some good animes to watch??

Postby RobLoge85 » Tue Dec 31, 2002 10:32 pm

topic. Heres a list of anime that I've enjoyed...

Record of Lodoss War(What I've seen of it,episodes 1-13)
Outlaw Star
Yu Yu Hakusho(What I've seen of it, started watching like a month ago)
Princess Mononoke(kick ass movie)
Inuyasha(What I've seen of it, started watching like a month ago)
Cowboy Bebop

Basically I'm sort of a newbie with anime. Any suggestions would be good.
I was getting some ideas of watching Trigun next but I don't want to spend money on the DVD just yet since I haven't seen any of it.

I loved Trigun although the begining is a bit slow. Avoid AMV trust me every one I've seen would spoil something.

The first series I watched was Ranma1/2. It's a good one to start with because there's like 150 episodes and the don't really have very much continuity. It's really funny, the plot is a bit hard to explain quickly but it's excellent. Also it's quite cheap to buy as a bootleg even dubbed which is way better and I'm normally not a fan of dubbings. If you don't want to buy it it's really easy to find, loads of it on Kazaa anyway.

Also if you can get try Devilman. There's lots of blood and gore although not that many people I've spoken to like it. It's quite old(80's) but a classic.

Hope that helps. :D

"Trigun" is a good sci-fi/western series.
"Irresponsible Captain Tylor" is a fun "space hero" series.
"Jin-Roh:The Wolf Brigade" is a good, but very dark and gritty, movie.

There's a few for a start.
I'm out...

FLCL, Goldenboy, X (TV), Read or Die, Saber Marionette, Ah! My Goddess, and Fushigi Yugi (I know it seems cheesy but xomething about that series intrigues me like no other).

i showed a freind berserk once....start to finish .. it was the first real anime he had ever seen ... after the last 2 episodes i think he developed a complex .... he never was the same after that expiriance......

good thing i didnt show him EoE huh?
...the problem I see a lot is that many good amv makers think they suck, and many bad amv makers think they're good.
I've seen it happen, man! I've SEEN IT!..

I'm gonna reccomend Hellsing and X.... just don't go NEAR anything with the word "Gundam" in it.

9 out of 10 AMV Creators agree! I'd make a kick-ass Mad-Hatter.
Suggest "Luke Valentine Says Blow Me" becomes it's own section! Moderated by yours truly! Put it right under "It's all about me" That way, I'll only be allowed to post there! A post anywhere else would get me banned! A suggestion for Luke is a suggestion towards a Luke-free Forum.

Really, you shouldn't tell someone not to watch an anime just because you personally don't like it. Everyone has different tastes, so encourage people to experiment and discover what they like on their own.
