Meh. I thought End of Eva was bad enough. I would rather let sleeping dogs lie.

Two more months until the first Rebuild movie comes out.

Anno stating that they're going to completely redo the Ramiel battle now that they've got the animation technology for it is all well and good, but honestly, just the fact that Kaoru's going to be in it is enough for me. I can't wait to see what they do with his character now that they've got so much more screen time in which to develop him. ^____^

Meh. I found the artistic ending in the series itself was psychologically envigorating, as well as appropriate for what the series itself was. Maybe it was just me, but I think the movies were waaay too violent, which took away from the series (at least I thought). Then again, this argument has been going on long enough.... I'm not going to turn into some "i'm right, you're wrong" battle, so I'll just leave it at this.

Though Scintilla does make a nice point about Kouru and the animation. It might be a nice nostagic thing, now that I think about it. I thought that Kouru's character was vastly underused. One episode was not enough. I really wanted to see the Shinji/Kouru relationship (non-yaoi) work itself out. I was really not expecting the whole betrayel thing, which screwed up Shinji pretty badly in the last two episodes (and the movie remakes).

Meh. The jury's still out. I have the series, I did enjoy it, butI hate to be dissapointed again. :D

I hated the series, but saw that movie on a movie channel one day and watched it. Ha, I found it funny, just because how "deep" it tried to get.
I also like it didn't get any stars with my satellite critique. :p

Meh, I'm in the middle on these. Still consider the series as one of my favorites, but it makes no difference to me if these movies come out or not.

Huh? Each movie would have to be around 2 and a half hours to just equal the amount of screen time in the 26 episode series. And that's assuming you count all four movies but really the series is being retold in the first 3 movies and the fourth is yet another new ending so really there's less screen time in the movies than the TV series had.

Personally I'm just hoping Anno *FINALLY* figures out how to tell the story he wants to. I think it's clear that between the three different tellings the story has had already that he kept stumbling around going 'I know what I want to say I just can't figure out how to say it'. Hopefully he's finally figured it out the fourth time around.

Personally I'm not overly optimistic about these just yet. I've gotten a little wary of Gainax, even while they're not milking Eva, in the past few years. Though I'll probably end up checking them out as I expect that, if nothing else, the animation should be very nice (they've gotta have a decent budget, as returns on it are virtually a guarantee).

If nothing else, at least they'll provide nice footage for editing with.

I want to see just how much they'll vary from the path the TV series took (and how the conclusion works out this time), then I'll form my own opinions on them.

Even if he only shows up in three movies and each movie is only 1.5 hours long, I figure he's still got to show up for more than the, what, 13 minutes he had in the TV series?

I don't suppose it makes you feel better that I've read somewhere that this is actually being done not by GAiNAX proper but by a new side project company.
