**SPOILER** Trigun ending?

Postby Wykith » Fri Dec 27, 2002 5:16 pm

Alright who else has a problem with the way this damn series ended? I mean damn. All this time they tried so hard to prove Knives wrong and all they did was prove him right. Vash popped a few caps in his ass, left him alive, swung him over his shoulder and walked into town with that big idiot grin on his face. He walked into town with a living power plant with enough power to destroy EVERYTHING as soon as he woke up.
Don't get me wrong. I liked this series a lot....but the ending was a big plate of shit with a side of ass.

My friends make fun of me because I thought the ending of Trigun was sad.

*SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!*

Wolfwood was the coolest character ever, and when he died it was really sad. The thing with Milly was unexpected, and just made it worse. She was so sad

How did he prove Knive's right, exactly? KILLING Knives would have proved him right. Vash instead proved to Knives that it is better to show compassion and to value life than destroy randomly.

Two things...make that three.
1. Wolfwood died. His master who killed him felt guilty, went to avenge his death and as Knives said, died in vain. Nothing gained.
2. Vash killed Legato to save the girls. No ifs ands or buts. He killed the spider to save the butterflies. Period.
3. Not killing Knives was only delaying the inevitable. Knives is not going to wake up and suddenly realize he was wrong. He's going to keep killing those around Vash until he either kills Vash or Vash, once again, kills the spider to save his precious butterflies.

But Vash shot him in the arms and legs. He'd practically be a quadriplegic when he wakes up. Additionally, don't Knives and Vash need their revolvers to use the Angel Arm? And wouldn't having a broken arm complicate using the Angel Arm?

Have you seen Vash without a shirt? He's got a hole over his heart! That and the fact Knives can make a whole town vanish or blow up a powerplant just by willing it.

Vash never used even a tenth of his potential as a superior being. Legato got the power to control other's actions just by having Vash's arm....his arm. Imagine what Knives can do with just the act of not being unconcious.

I haven't read anything about Trigun Maximum but maybe it picks up where the series left off. it might finish up the knives problem but im not sure.

.

You know Vash didn't kill the spider, Knives did. Vash got all upset because he wanted both to live. Or was that just a typo?

No, he was using it as a metaphor for when Vash killed Legato to save Meryl and Millie from the villagers under Legato's control. Vash killed the spider (Legato) to save the butterflies (Meryl and Millie).

I don't really have any quarrels with the ending. Apart from the fact that Knives just appeared out of nowhere I mean you heard about him throughout and saw him as a kid but all of a sudden he just appears, they fight, he losses and Vash saunters back into town with him slung over his shoulder. Vash didn't prove Knives right either. He killed Legato because he had no choice. If he didn't the girls would have been killed and to use the cliche the butterflies would have died to save the spiders and who wants that. However it was a shame that Wolfwood had to die I liked him but didn't you think that the screams if both Milly and Vash were brilliantly gutteral in the japanese version. Anyway that's my view, Vash could cry all he wanted it was all good comedy even when it was supposed to be serious.
