I grew up watching Doraemon and other anime during my elementary school years, my cousin in Taiwan got me the 6th season series and part of the seventh I think as well as a multi-series cross-over movie. Another cousin also living in America who is 10 years older than me founded the anime club in our city. He also had a very impressive anime collection back in his high school days, and he would share some of the tamer stuff with me. I saw Ranma when I was 6, and I think I saw Record of Lodoss Wars when I was seven or eight. About a decade and a half later, I've got more Anime tapes, CDs, DVDs and video games than I know what to do with. ^^;

That's quite funny because how I got interested into anime was about 2 years ago with a girl that I meet in my art class. She would ask various anime question and then got me into anime by inviting me over to here house to watch other anime other than DBZ and others that came on during the day. So from that point I just got really interested in it and started watch various animes and I'm a part of an anime club now. Plus I run my own anime club in school twice a week from 2pm-4:30 pm.

Well the girl I was friends with we remained good friends and then she moved to Florida and went ahead to College. Just recently we got back together and had a small welcome back party and we still stay in contact with each other. When she has a chance she sends me stuff to improve apond the draws of anime characters I have done so far which aren't to bad. So now since I'm really into anime I've started writing my own short stories which may get turned into a manga if I work at.

well about 12 years ago when I was about 10, I saw vampire hunter d and robot carnival late night on TBS. I really liked the lighting effects that gave things like water and jewry sparkles. Than I was wacthing dragon ball every sun day morning before I went to church. But at 16 I got my first job and a drivers license and started buying my own.

I predate the toonami fans but I don't hate them. I you have to see anime to like it and toonami is the gate way drug. I personally converted 3 people into anime fans.

I have been a huge fan of anime since like 12-10 years ago, having watched the whole saint seiya, Dai's adventure, and most of the robotech series that were shown years ago on Mexico's television. Even today it's sad to think that they have more anime series on non-paid television that here in the US. My bro and I were hooked on Saint Seiya, then came Dragon Ball, and then DBZ. After watching all the DB, DBZ and DBGT in spanish, my bro and I kind of lost interst in it, but after watching Akira for the 2nd time I really got into it pretty heavily. My current addiction is .HACK and Cowboy Bebop. I'm looking for new and better animation out there, any suggestions????

well lets see ... i was first a little kid and watched the ones that were on tv like voltron, and reruns of speed reacer :D
flash forward a few years i am now in 10th grade, my girlfriend had dumped me and i rented usugai yatsura ( the one with lum in the tiger skin bikini) , and i started drawing them, next it was sailor moon i was suspended from school and was channel flipping and saw it ,then pokemon, and next it was any anime i could get my hands , i have comcast digital cable, and inthe on demand menu they have a channel called cutting edge, it has nothing but anime and you can choose what ones you want to watch , the have ones like the gunsmith cats , ninja scroll,pecock king and a few others, the one that has caputered me at this point is Trigun, a cool show about , the worlds best gunman , who has a promise that he would never kill anyone. very good show , any way thats how i got into anime and manga. well later all love and peace
