I do agree that it's a culture. A very interesting one at that. I'm glad to part of it somehow.
I'd like to think I'm quirky, but I think I just come off as weird most of the time.
Visit Image where weirdness is a virtue and quirkiness rules supreme.

Neither. I love anime, but not THAT much. :D

Ack! Heretic!....jk. Like all things, there are those who are passionate and there are those who are just interested or curious.

My psychiatrist prescribed it to me. He said my anime addiction had become pathalogical and that there was no known cure for such a state. He said that with time, or after watching a lot of continuously bad anime, I might stop feeling the full effects of withdrawl.Image

lol. I usually watch anime for entertainment or to escape reality, like how one would read a book.

Of course sometimes u wonder how it would be like to be that in that world, or to be the hero and so on, but i know its not my reality or my world...but it helps me deal with it.

I don't see how some people can be so passionate about anime, it's just a medium for entertainment, I can understand how people can get into a series (anime or not), but to have an 'anime addiction' seems to be a bit ridiculous to me, because it's hardly a genre, it's just animation of Japanese origin, you get good and crap all the same...

Oh...

...my...

......God.

If I could see you people I would hit you in the face. I only just read the first four pages of this thread. ~shakes head sadly~

I've gone as far as to say 'It'd be cool if I was..' etc, but seriously, you people need help. I love my life, where I live, my house, my family, my friends are the most important thing in the world to me, the only 'fantasy' I'd rather be in is this one, except with loads of money. :D

After hearing such comments as 'Anime gets me up in the morning', 'I can barely stay away from my computer for a few hours', 'I'm going to my friends house and I'm taking my comp', and 'reality sucks', I think I'm going to throw up.

You lot better just be a bunch of angsty teenagers, because any adults with the same attitude are in real trouble. It sounds to me like anime is the worst thing that could have happened to some of you people, I'm hearing that some of you are using just an average form of entertainment as some crazy method of forgetting your
Pathetic existences

You people should just spend 6 weeks away from computers and anime, go out to parties some more, socialise, get some GIRLFRIENDS people, and then come back, hopefully as a more casual fan.

For fucks sake... :x

In reality, you go to school, grow up, get a job, get married, have a family, and then live out the rest of your life. There's really no purpose besides this. In anime, the characters have a purpose and live out that purpose. I've always wished I got the chance to explore the universe or save the world. Hopefully, you all know what I'm talking about and wish this same thing about your lives. It's like having a dream about you saving the day (or the girl  ). I might be wrong about this, and if so, correct me. It would be so cool if it were like this, though.

Oooooo... I've missed this thread for awhile.

Of course we all have a purpose. That purpose is what we make of it. That's the one thing we have that you should enjoy, the idea that you have the right to decide. We're not necessarily thrown into something we don't want to be a part of. So we have to make the best of that decision. Make our own goals. Make our own purpose for living. And try to accomplish it to the best of our abilities.

Mr Oni

I'm not saying I'm perfect, more so that life is what you make it, my life is far from perfect, I'd say the state of my life if it wasn't private, yet I still have a social life, and love the good things in my life enough for it to have meaning, other than to dream of being/having an anime character. I'm not saying you need to have/have had a girlfriend to not be a loser, just that life is more than anime, and from reading this thread it just was mind-boggling, the attitudes of a lot of the people posting here, with absolutely zero respect for their own lives.
