Don't try to understand it...
Just go to bed and lie there shivering under your covers.
It worked for me...

Have the DVD? Watch the audio commentrary, it might help. If not, don't worry. It's not meant to be understood. :D

You can feel free to e-mail me. I will do my best to explain as well as I can. I don't claim to have all the answers, but I do know some things about the movie.

Well now you've seen it and you haven't killed yourself for the big waste of money you just spent on that series you have learned a lesson. Go out and get something that is not a waste of money like Vandread.

Check out the FAQ at http://www.evaotaku.com/index2.html

It's very helpful since Brendan used things that actually happened in the series and film or were said by the creator's to reach his conclusions, and didn't idly speculate.

There's an audio commentary from Anno on the DVD? *Have to rewatch it NOW* Woot Woot!
Anyway, joker27, you could google for "Ikari Gendo's Ultimate Eva FAQ", a good start for things related and shown in Evangelion.

Peace out,

Well, MOST of the series makes sense. So you should enjoy it more, but the ending and the movies are just mindfucks beyond belief. It's called "Uhhh... We set up all these intricate mysteries and plot details and we're too lazy to uhhh... Finish them... So watch this trippy shit instead, it's animated well."
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

I wouldn't worry about that. I did that, and I found it really didn't make too much of a difference. Though watching Death & Rebirth is practically watching the season.
