Postby MAS PRODUCTIONS » Fri Jul 12, 2002 4:39 am

I know converting anime into a live action movie should never be done but if it were what animes would you say would best be converted. My top two would probably be - Evangelion and Rurouni Kenshin. NOT DBZ!!!!!!!! damn you hollywood!!!!!

Irresponsible Captain Tylor has some potential,as a serious-comedy space movie. The big problem is cutting down the 13 hours or so of TV episodes into a 2 hour movie, and making a story out of it.

I think Trigun has an excellent chance of actually being a live action movie. Saber Marionette J might be good, too.

Also, I want to see a live action DBZ movie. I could care less if you hate it, but I love DBZ, and a live action DBZ movie would be awesome.

Some have already been done in Japan. For example, the live action scene in DokiDoki's Right Now video is a cut from the live action version of Revolutionary Girl Utena (SHUDDER). There is already a live action Dragon Ball movie. There's even a live action Parasite Eve movie. The show Iria is actually based on an existing series of live action movies. And... (gasp shudder cringe) there's even a live action LA Blue Girl movie.

A live action TV series of Fruits Basket. Call me crazy, but I think it would actually sell in America if it were Comedy/Drama TV show. Though I'm sure they'd mess it up.

I've already seen an...Utena Musical!*shudders*

They just had the first episode..but it was horrible!

Heres a desicripsoin-

It starts out with Utena singing about her prince and how she will become one...she has one strand of pink hair that appears cliped on. The females school uniforms suck, they wouldn't be so bad if they just fixed the ties...Wakaba, and Anthy were costumed and there hair fit perfectly, the student coucil sucked, and the spinning castle was just a bunch of christmas lights.Utena's clothse tranformed in the first duel, and when Sainonji slaps Anthy he doesn't even come close to her face.Dios has plastic hair, and the duel was the worst, Utena still had a wooden sword but it still sounded as if two metal swords when hit..

Point is that no anime should ever be put into a real musical or movie.

I think Trigun is the only series that could be pulled off live action.

Actually, there is a Sailor Moon musical as well. And along the same note, for a while, Disney here in USA was planning on making a live-action Sailor Moon movie for release here in the states. Glenn Close had even expressed interest in playing Queen Beryl. The project fell through, though, for whatever reason.
