I see... and how are they going to redo evangelion? shinji chose instrumentality so they are going to have to have it take place from inside the mass mind.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

What happened was he thought that was a good idea which made a big mess of everyone, but in the end he let the AT feild come exist again so even though everyone got smashed toghther all they have to do is will themselfs back into being.
aside from that, I don't think eva will EVER have a sequel two reasons
1) EoE is sort of a jab at all the fans who demanded the movie anyway
2) there's no where worth going with it anymore
this was disscused to death on the old Evangelion.com forums, does anyone know exactly what happened to that site one day it was just gone...

I'm not sure about the manga, but maybe this 2nd season won't include the movies. They might just treat the movies like a seperate ending to Evangelion. You know, like one of those, "choose your own adventure" stories. So the series continues on, and the movies are what could have happened... :)

Well, the VW Beetle was brought back among other things... :?
Retro seems like it was popular for a while...
Pre-quels/classics were done/redone...
Stories have been retold/reworded...

So who knows what could happen? :P

Heh, maybe they'll pull that 5 minutes of normal life he dreamt of (25th or 26th ep.) and create a sequal out of that.

Now that would be weird.

The creators of EVA are glad to be done with it. They've moved on. There will be no sequal.........unfortunately.

I highly doubt there will be a sequel. As kthulhu said, there is little they could do and still stay true to the story and not be boring. But, like Chaos, I believe they could do a prequel. Exactly what that would entail, I have no clue. Frankly, I think Anno went insane after the first 24 episodes of Evangelion. :)

But that's what made it so deliciously mind-boggling!

Actually, he WAS institutionalized which is why it took so long for End of EVA to come out. That's right boys and girls, the man was certifIED, way past the point of certifIABLE.

He made the last two episodes just before he lost it and had to be put away for a while. He came back, finished the series, and MOVED ON. Trust, I don't think this is going to go down anytime soon. Sequel or prequel.

no.. wtf? cat is talking about the series ending, you're talking about the movie ending

as for a sequel.. its really only possible following the movie storyline. In which case it would probably revolve around shinji and asuka and people trying or not trying to bring themselves back. However any sort of actual eva/angel sort of action, as said, would totally screw up the story. Although you never know, we need Milo's opinion on this one..

the series end and the movie are EXCATLY the same thing, the series is just all the events interanl to the characters, their thoughts and feelings while the movie shows us what is happening while all that crazy introspection is going on.
