Yeah, I agree about FLCL. It's a good one.

By far the most moving experience I've ever had from anime was Magnetic Rose, from the Memories collection. You might have trouble finding it, and not everyone is going to like how it ends up kinda open-ended, but I would say that it's the best anime I've ever seen.

Aside from the it's hard to go wrong with Berserk. If you can identify with soldier/warrior characters at all then you'll love it. I'm not sure how much has been released domestically thus far, so it might not have gotten to the really good parts yet.
When I become an Evil Overlord my Legions of Terror will be an equal-opportunity employer. Conversely, when it is prophesied that no man can defeat me, I will keep in mind the increasing number of non-traditional gender roles.

I am the King of the Easily Entertained.

It is my lifelong goal to make my dieing scream as horrible as possible.

Mexican-Grave of the fireflys is funny!!!! Nah it was ok

Psyko -I dont know what love hina you were watching. I found it very funny and thougn not very moving the second episode about Shinobu was as was the one with the wooden doll.

hmm I agree with everyone about Now and then here and there. this is a great anime. But what about slayers it's goofball alot but it has very touching moments in it like when Hellmaster is killng everyone. Arc the lad has a very sad moment in it too I'm not spoiling that for anyone you have to see it. And of course Urusei yatsura lots of moving moments in that one.

Well, perhaps there were certain moving parts in Love Hina. The wooden doll ep was certainly moving, although episode 2 seemed like just a vehicle to add another character to the cast. The fact that Shinobu's character is completely unbelievably unrealistically shy kinda takes away from that episode. In terms of comedy, Naru-hitting-Keitarou gets unfunny after about the 5th time. It gets dull, stupid, and insulting by the 10th time. I say insulting because by putting such a scene into the anime means that the makers are assuming that my intelligence level is low enough to actually enjoy it after watching it that many times. But they insist on putting such scenes at least 3 times per episode. I'm sick of "oh, that's so violent; oh that's so silly; oh that's so crazy; oh that's so cute" comedy. I want some good original comedy or at least one that's intelligent. Love Hina fails in all aspects of that.

psyko-Sorry I got to disagree with you on that one. I like love hina I just do and the fact that shinobu is shy just makes her more interesting. I don't know who was critical about her but maybe her parents yelled alot when she was younger. Anyway it's your right not to like it. I can think of several different animes that I dislike that just about everybody likes for example I find Eva to have a really retarded boring ending. As for Naru hitting Keitaro that's not susposed to be funny as much as it shows the different moods shes in.

Obviously, it boils down to personal opinion. We can just agree to disagree. But about Shinobu; in that episode, she frickin cried and ran away when the other girls were berating Keitarou about his sketchbook. Having a person be shy is nice. But that's just too unrealistic, and creates a too obvious weak-woman and knight-in-shining-armor effect that I personally find to be boring, old, and cliche.

Niea_7 is a nice retrospective series that I love and highly recommend. Magic Users Club, both the OVA and the TV series, caught me off-balance with how touching many elements were.

psyko-I like Knight in shining armor stories! Maybe that's why my everquest character goes around helping others.

Niea under 7-Introduces a bunch of neat characters has a cool plot does it finish it? No!!! super waste of money. If when Niea disapeared something had actually happened to her it would have been a touching moment but nope.

Well Tenchi Universe is really emotional in the last 5 episodes.

And Tenchi OAV has really emotional parts throughout. It has good comedy too.

I haven't seen it but I think FLCL might make you wanna kill your neighbor or sumthin ;-p Perfect Blue too...

the most 'pants-moving' for me was Iketeru Futari, 12 eps and like 5 minutes of heaven each ;-p

Well, as you wrote, you obviously haven't seen FLCL because it has nothing in it that could make you wanna kill your neighbor... It's a hopeful and fun anime that has a lot of meaning. Evangelion might make you wanna kill your neighbor, though....
