Kenshin series order...

Postby Bushido Philosopher » Sun Nov 10, 2002 2:15 pm

What's the Kenshin OAV and TV order?? I see titles like Kenshin OAV 4 and all this confusing stuffs...

I'm not even sure which on I'm watching now. Even some people I know go "uhh.....the one with Tomoe."

So can someone please tell me the order and all the series?

first would be the ova in which tomoe is in
which includes ova 1-4 all these go together in order
then the tv series (the ovaS can also be watched during the tv series)
then the last and to my opinion the best kenshin seisouhen ova part 1 and 2

i would also recomend reading the manga if you are able

Technically, the chronological order of the series would be, as mentioned, the first OVA (four episodes), the TV series, and finally the new Seisouhen OVA (two episodes).

At Otakon '99, I saw the first part of the OVA after only having seen the first four episodes of the TV series. I wish I hadn't.

You'll get MUCH more out of the OVA if you watch it AFTER having at least seen until the end of the Kyoto Arc in the TV series. All the little things here and there that are mentioned (I believe there's even a reference to Shishio, not by name, in the OVA somewhere...) will be more like little "otaku perks" rather than simply going over your head.

I think that rather than knowing Kenshin's full past ahead of time, it would be much more gratifying to slowly learn things here and there along the way in the TV series, and then tie it all together at the end with the first OVA.

Of course, the Seisouhen OVA takes place many years after the end of the series, so you should watch that last :P.

Yeah, he's mentioned as the "new trainee" that is to take Kenshin's place, and appears briefly to assassinate someone.
