My mind has officially been prison raped, and left with a demoralized sense of the morality of human nature. Anyone else like this movie as much as I did?

It was an awesome movie, I loved the sewer scene the best.

It's by far the best anime I've seen, next to Spirited Away anyway. Yeah, the movie really makes you think. It's not the easiest movie to interpret, as are all Momaru Oshii films, nor is it a movie for the faint of heart (the movie is about failure of the human spirit, and mankind's dwelve into darkness)

[spoiler]

Yeah, jin roh is great. What makes it deep is the fact that he kills the girl because it seems like it is a necesity (and he knows that he will have to do it long before he actually does shoot her), unlike many stories where the guy doing the killing is nuts or something. That's what makes it a story about the failure of the human spirit.

And if you want to see a really great amv using Jin Roh, AIM me when I'm online :D (I don't have hosting :( )

That ending scene you just mentioned is just...powerful. Powerful like a really hard punch to the gut. It's just something that is so full of emotion. The buildup, the actual act, the look on Fuse's face afterwards. It's just pulled off so well. It's a scene that really stuck with me well after watching the movie.

On the other hand, even though I liked the symbolism...How man freakin times do they have to push the red riding hood theme into our collective faces. I think we got it the first time around...didn't need the extra 72

(spoiler)

One of the scenes that really got me was the whole dream sequence in the middle of the movie, where Kei gets eaten by wolves. The whole thing was just so graphic and surreal that it sends chills down my spine everytime I watch it.

If it's still available, consider getting the special edition 3-disc set. The included soundtrack CD is worth having.

I absolutely loved it. I wanted Fuse to kick his traitor friend's ass from the start.
