OK, that's cool I just didn't want negativity to build.
Anyways, I think that anime is slowly getting a larger fanbase anyways. I became a fan because of Tenchi Universe (though it wasn't the first anime I watched). It sort of snowballed after that. And it was basically one guy who got me into anime by making me watch this one show.
Then I got my sister into anime and also one other friend sort of (I do mean sort of, only time will tell).
I think if each anime fan helps make at least one, or if they can more fans, it will grow into something massive in a decade or two.
Maybe a few of us on this site will become animators, or famous, and say how oh yeah anime influenced me blah blah blah, kids check it out.
And also if some of eventually have companies which release anime, we should strive to make it good, and market it well.
Please do not forcefeed people anime, start with something light, if you force people too much they will end up hating it (also show them don't tell them, until they seem interested, the last thing you want is people thinking anime is boring).
Specifically I think if Blockbuster or DVD/VHS rental agencies had a special offer for anime rentals for some time, or had an offer were renting a certain video allowed someone to rent a anime title for free as well, this could create new fans.
T.V. execs can help in some respects. Maybe create an anime cable channel.
Just throwing out ideas, there are many more.
Don't feel you have to stick to this line of thought (If you read all the threads you'll see how multiple questions are being answered at once).
