Just a note: if you're wanting to get the full Rurouni Kenshin series, be prepared to spend a LOT of money (there are a ton of dvds for it)..

And I have to recommend Haunted Junction - it's only one 2-disc set and it's a great buy (lots of hilarious moments).

I must agree with Gotenk, Outlaw Star is very funny. So if you're lookin for comedy get Outlaw Star, there is a new box set with all the dvds for something close to $70, I think it's near $70.

I *MUCH* prefer Kenshin's voice to be a man's ... it's just .. kinda.. strange when it's a woman's .. but I still like the "oro"..

I know how ya feel, Gotenks, I paid $50 smackeroonies for the 3 dvds(2 for each case, so technically 6 dvds). Let's do the math $150 for 3 dvds, $70 for 3 dvds, whoever gets the box set is really fucking(language, I know). And as you said "ya win some ya lose some" and I'll put Outlaw Star quotes in my sig, so I don't have to post them.
Yes, the 3rd dvd is the best.

I just saw a few episodes of Azumanga Daioh and Fruits Basket, and both were pretty good. Azumanga Daioh is definitely the funnier of the two, but I don't think it's been licensed yet. If you like Love Hina though, I'd recommend AD, whenever it get's licensed.

Another good anime is Bakuretsu Hunters (otherwise known as Sorceror Hunters) Its a really funny series with interesting transformation sequences, and its pretty cheap. As far as romance goes... well the main character gets the beatdown from the TWO female romantic leads which just hapen to be sisters. A very funny series.

i don't care if someone already said this or not...

Yeah, get Akira(simply, the best anime movie ever) and Proncess Mononoke. There both great movies.

Recommendation that hasn't already been said:

Gundam 0080: War In The Pocket, a six-part ova (three eps one two discs) this is easily one of the best Gundam stories out there (and one of the few times in all the animes I've seen where the ending had me starting to choke up)

Other than that, can't think of any others that haven't already been said

Well which would you be more interested in, getting movies or series. You could pay 150+ bucks for 1 series on DVD, or get 4 or 5 movies on DVD for the same price.
