Fruits Basket - I will finally have seen it all

Postby Garylisk » Fri Aug 30, 2002 1:20 pm

Well, in about 15 minutes my download of episode 26 of Fruits Basket will be done and I'll be able to say I've seen the whole show. However, here's a question for those out there who have seen the whole thing already:

I've seen something available for download here and there on peer 2 peer progs labeled as "Fruits Basket Episode 0" and/or "Fruits Basket Special" - Any idea what this is?

And then also, my thoughts on Episode 25.. I hope they sort out this problem with Kyo in a good manner. As for now, it looks kind of bad... kind of sad... And one thing I definitely wanna see is somebody punk Akito. What an asshole!

IIRC, the Fruit's Basket special was an interview with the creators of the anime/manga. Dunno what episode 0 is, maybe it's the special..

Episode 0's are usually the seiyuu's, producer and director all talking about how great the anime is going to be. There is no realt substance to it and they like to show spoilers during the specials which pisses me off. Not only that but since there is so little to go on they usually repeat the same phrases over and over again and no one has anything special to say except that it's going to be great. I've seen ones for Noir, it stated it would be revolutionary and suspenseful Noir is a a-typical story line. Then I saw Mahromatic 00, it's a maid show, it it's like no other maid show out there  , then saikano, where it's touching, a show more touching then any other show  . Bah they're A WASTE OF TIME!

Actually, I can say that I have seen one good Episode 0. The one for X TV was a pretty good episode, gave some good background on one of the main characters (although it did have some spoilers in it if I remember correctly...). Anyway, point is, don't dismiss all ep 0's as worthless, some of them are actually good.

Yes the only problem was that X TV was horrid

Ep 1 had some much neat stuff, but everything else was flat.

I loved the ending to Fruits Basket, it concluded everything...and didn't leave you wondering what was going to happen.
And, it's sweet!

But..a happy ending....kind of strange for an anime -_-

If you like the series, you need to watch the spoof. Whoever did it used episode 24, and I just couldn't stop laughing. If I say more, I'll give away the funny parts, so just note that you need to download it. You won't be disappointed.

Hey Garylisk,

I'm late on this reply, but if you want to see more you should get into the manga. It's wonderful! And it's still going. The anime stops at volume 6 (although they don't include nearly as much stuff that happens in the manga). It's now up to volume 9 and is still going in Hana to Yume magazine in Japan. You can find translations and summaries online. I highly recommend it :)

The people who were translating the manga closed their site.

And..Fruits Basket is now being dubbed! The first episode is already finished >_<

Ummm, not sure which "people" you're talking about. But if you're looking for the Furuba Project it has moved here:

You have to be on the Fruits Basket ML mailing list to be able to read it, but it's well worth it. There are other places to find summaries and translations, but it takes some digging around to find them.
