Which one is real...

Or is the only difference that it's platinum?
Is it really worth buying the platinum? Does it contain anything more than the regular box set?

They're both real; the first one was the ORIGINAL box set, while the second one is, as you said, Platinum.

If you plan on using this series for footage AT ALL, then you owe it to yourself to get the Platinum version. The original version was a horrible source, with plenty of GAiNAX jitter, dust and dirt, and (worst of all?) frame blending that made a clean IVTC impossible.
The remastered version fixes these issues and also improves the colors noticeably; about the only thing left to complain about is the fact that Japan got their version ("Renewal of Evangelion") released as 23.976 progressive with the 3:2 pulldown flag, while A.D. Vision for some reason gave it to us as 29.97 interlaced. But at least it's a simple and clean <s>(PLANITb Remix)</s> IVTC job now.

Plus, with the Platinum box set, you get nice Director's Cut footage to work with.

Someone posted a question about this site around a month ago... But I'm doing it again to make sure. Is it legit? Both Full Metal Panic! and Full Meta Panic!: Fumoffu. Thanks :)

The Special Edition version of Origin includes a 'Making Of' documentary and some trailers, if I'm not mistaken.

As for the FMP, that link is legit. The artwork is of the older releases (Right Stuf links to the old and the new below):

Old version: Full Metal Panic! DVD Complete Collection (Hyb) (Thinpak)

New version: Full Metal Panic! DVD Complete Collection (Hyb) (Thinpak)

Old version: Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU DVD Complete Collection (Hyb) (Thinpak)

New version: Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU DVD Complete Collection (Hyb) (Thinpak)

Aside from the artwork, they are exactly the same. You might want to consider getting the singles for FMP? Fumoffu (1, 2, 3, 4) over the Thinpak collection since like many of ADV's Thinpak editions, FMP? Fumoffu doesn't include extras like clean opening and closing animations. Some newer re-releases have had extras re-included, but not this one. :( (Plus, the're cheap(er).)

On the other hand, both Full Metal Panic! collections maintained the extras (and disc count) as the singles. I think it's because the set was released way back when ADV started Thinpak-ing collections and hadn't started stripping them.

 Will you marry me? Thanks for the heads up on the textless openings and the price. ;)
The regular Full Metal Panic! Box set is like 30 bucks cheaper... And like 12 bucks cheaper for the Fumoffu discs seperately. Thanks for all the help.

I'm trying to find Onmyou Taisenki import Japanese DVDs, but all I've found so far are either bootleg or just one volume, not the whole series or a site that has all the volumes. I've tried the sites linked here but they didnt seem to have them. Anyone know a site I can get them that isnt bootleg? Thanks in advanced.
Currently replaying/recording: Tales of Vesperia (Xbox360) and Tales of Graces F (PS3)

Bah. I'm too freakin' tired to go hunting for another thread that answers a couple of questions that have been bugging me for ages.

Let's assume bootlegging, fansubbing, etc are stopped. Would that increase the chances of OVAs, out of print shows, etc that will normally never see licensing for release outside of Japan or wherever they were originally made being released legally elsewhere? See, the problem as I understand it, is that the licensing companies will not take on shows they don't think will sell well regardless of illegal copying and distribution. So what can we fans do to convince the licensing companies that we do want the hard-to-get shows and we're willing to pay through the nose for them?

Something sexual.

Well, honestly I can only say that you should pay through the nose and pray that karma exists.

Nothing the fans really do as a single customer is going to move these companies, in my opinion.
Everything came from nothing, therefore everything is nothing.

There's nothing to worry about.

Yeah. I get that. I was just wondering if something like petitions or mass letter writing campaigns would work. Heh.

If you can provide 1 example of online petitioning/mass letters working, I will personally sign every petition you throw at me.
