Nope, not unless you've got an R2 or region-free player.
But they rip fine regardless of region.

Of course, you could always buy a cheap DVD player and reset its region code; standalone players are getting down into the 30-40 USD range, which is less than you'll spend on the average R2 DVD. Most of them will have the option to reset the region code at least once, but you may want to research before buying a particular model.

if you've got a mod chip it'l probably make it region free.

What dvd player do you have (exact name and model number. it should be writen on a sticker on the back/botton of it)? I could probably find a guide for you to make it region free.

Anybody have any legit websites that sell Japanese anime (English subtitles) that aren't bootlegged? I checked www.cdjapan.co.jp and nothing is subtitled....I currently don't have the time to learn japanese since I am having enough trouble learning korean....

P.S. I am currently looking for the first Sailor Moon movie and I know it exist but I am not sure where to find it....It's not R, S, or SuperS(got those already)....This one was released just before the others....

:D

I'd like to know, too. The bootleg versions are piss poor in quality. :?

That's it! I can't wait any longer! There are an assload of unlicenced anime I am dying to buy! Is it OK just to buy the bootlegs off the internet for the fansubs and fund the freakin Triads? I'm so confused...

Uh, that would lead Triad into trouble, and they'll never fansub again. :|
