kwai means cute.

sempai means like...someone above you in ranks. like, your subordinate would call you sempai. im not really sure...

They also speek some English in Gravitation. The persons name is K. So I think it is that they find it cool. I think it is cool when they put other sayings in are movies even though it dosn't happen a lot.
I say Baka and kwai all the time now, it makes things fun
