Thing not looking so right in Vegas

this is a screen shot of Kara: The Prophecy in sony vegas

Image

Main problem is that there seems to be a back bar on the left and right side of the screen. Now, when I ripped the DVD and used AVIsynth, everything looked fine in VirtualDub. I had cropped out any extra black sides that I could see. Now I was just using virtualDub to see what exactly I was doing. I didnt use it to make any avi files. Instead, I used VFAPI to get the avi. I put the avi in vegas and I come up with what you see above. I figure I can just crop it out when I'm done editing, but I wanted to make sure that I hadnt done anything wrong or if there was something I need to do in vegas.

My property settings are
720x480
Progressive Scan
Pixel Aspect Ration: .9091 NTSC DV

I get bigger black bars on the side and the footage gets squished from the sides.

Basically, make sure your project settings match your clip settings. (To see clip settings, right click the clip and go to Properties.)
... yea ...
