Vegas can't read codec

Postby Pherphq » Mon Jul 14, 2008 9:43 pm

Well the problem is while saving/rendering a project I get this sort of error.I used Xvid MPEG 4 codec then the Lagarith. The message says "an error has occur while creating a media file".Another one come up " an error occur while opening a codec"??Rendering settings Field None (progressive scan) video format Xvid MPEG 4 and Lagarith so on interleave uncheck I guess it's the render settings? Thanks in advance

It could also be the audio codec. What codec are you using to encode the audio?

Problem solve it was'nt really a codec issue. I render my project without audio than set it to a compress audio format such as Lame mp3. apologies for double post

Yeah, Vegas doesn't play nice with the LAME MP3 codec. It's a better idea to render to lossless formats from Vegas anyway and do your compression with VirtualDub or another external program.

Export lossless (and uncompressed audio) from Vegas and then compress it in Zarxgui or Virtualdub Mod
