Vegas 7.0 shape masking

Postby SupaOrginalMan021 » Wed Nov 21, 2007 1:04 pm

I've been having trouble with this for a while now and I just wanted to know if anyone has an easier way of masking those hard shapes like "hexagon" for instance :?:

Turn on the snap in the Pan/Crop window, make any shaped mask with six points, and move the points around until you get a decent-looking hexagon. You could also always use the shape presets in Photoshop (if you have it) and make a white hexagon on a transparent background, import that into Vegas and use it as a template for a hexagonal mask.

Another option for regular polygons is to find the shape in a font. Use the text generator with a large size (100+). Wingdings2 has a hexagon.

I'm pretty sure your question has been answered already... >.>"
But if you're talking about doing something a little like this:
Image
Then click
Track FX > Cookie Clutter (You'll need about 5) > Select "Reset to None" > Decrease size > Choose Shape (Triangles and Arrowheads work best) > place them in places where in the end, the leftover shape of the video is a certain shape.

Sort of confusing, but it works. ^^;;
