Any one know if Vegas works in Vista with out any problems? Which versions do and which versions don't?

Well when XP came out it was backwards compatible and played software made for Windows 98, NT, ME, 2000, and 95. So I would assume they made Vista backwards compatible the same way they did for XP. And I have heard of some people using Vegas on Vista... I just don't know what version.

Vista?... Convenient in some way? stop bullshitting yourself.. It'll take about 5 years before it's convenient with software.. prolly, but hell. I really don't know.

If you don't know, why answer?

On topic, Vegas 7 runs fine on 64-bit Vista for me. Only the Media Manager refuses to work, but I always disable that anyway. After installing Vegas I also started getting an error message when running Dxdiag. Probably something to do with the Directx plugins. It doesn't seem to really affect anything though. Vegas 8 is supposed to be fully Vista-compatible.

I second what was just said, except on a 32bit system.

speaking as an editor who has made 2 videos so far and working on 4 others on this new vista in vegas, vegas 7.0 is completely compatible.

You'll get a "the media manager is not the right access privelidgeS", but I haven't encoutered any proglems... just an annoying checkbox everytime I start it up.

Really? So the whole 'vegas 7 is compatible with both 64bit and 32bit systems' didn't say exactly what you said, only, before?

Also that annoying checkbox can be disabled.

Well, have you gone in to options>preferences and uncheked 'enable media manager'?

That seemed to do it for me, but maybe we're talking about a different checkbox. I should have inquired more before making any claims.
