First thing i notice is that now the audio of the clip, if dragged is seperate from the visual part of the clip:

I also noticed that when i split clips and try to drag them over other clips for transitions, they just overlap the previous clip and doesnt do anything >.<SPLIT>.>..ALL HELP WELCOMED!!

If i did a whole system restore on my computer to last night, would that take it back to the settings it was on before my brother came on?

omg.....You have Vegas but you don't even know how to rechange the settings?!

Here

1) You don't have to system restore

2) "The equalizer" as you so call it is called the grid, to enable snapping, go to Options and click any of the first four that's there and/or adjust the next two as you so fit.

3) For the automatic transition fade go to Options > and click Automatic Crossfades

4) I think for the audio go to options > click Ignore Event Grouping (I don't know for sure since I always keep my audio separate from my video until I put it into project

yeah i had these odd problems too and I ignored them. Afterwards, my sister created a new computer administrator and Vegas was like reborn, similar to a system restore in your case.
