Also a big thanks to

JaddziaDax
NerdStrudel
Ghet

for replying to me so I don't feel like a total idiot since I've been talking about this for the last 2 pages of this thread and helping me understand this media generator and cookie cutter effect stuff.

Thanks to Ladymercury for making this thread, because without you I would have never known how to crop out subtitles which was the first thing I wanted to make sure I could do :D

right click and choose "add video track" and place the "white bars" on the new track above the one you are working on... you gotta think in layers :3

well, if you've masked it out i dont see any reason for that to happen...

try putting the bar on a seperate video track on top of the video?
if that dosnt work, throw a chroma keyer effect onto the video and set it to key out the black

the chroma key should do the job for now, but if the first way solves it that would be that much better.

ah right ok I'll try the layer thing,is that the thing where you have 1 2 and 3 for when you drag media onto the timeline?

thanks, think I've got it now lol just before I saw your reply, thanks though and does the cookie cutter mean anything now since I'm using mask instead?

I have another effect I want to ask lol. It's like a circle radiating out waves...well something like that, usually used in tune with guitar solos at the start of a song.Is it an effect or one of those you have to put 2 and 2 together yourself like the piano key?

the cookie cutter is just the "easy way" to do the same thing as masking, but they are all preset shapes. so its a one or the other, you can do it either way, but if you already did it with masking there is no need to do the cookie cutter

as for the ripple effect, I think that's a stock premiere transition O.o I'm not that familiar with the program (premeire)

as far as I know there is no drop in ripple effect in vegas.

it might be a plug in?
you could check WAX plug ins to see if it's in that....
or asking in the "Special Effects" forum if anyone knows of a plug in for Vegas that does the effect

it's like an extra little program you can install that will add extra features into Vegas

(kinda like adding extra fonts to your computer and they will show up in mspaint or photoshop)
