wmv9 or any wmv type of compression (including the container) is not going to be good for editing, you need to convert them to a lossless compression such as huffyuv or lagarith...

Oky thanks! Is there any program you'd recommend which will help me convert it? I hope after converting it the subtitles get cropped off!!

... oh, my.. god.

How would converting something to a certain file type magically get rid of or crop subtitles... Your logic is mentally retarded at best.

you can crop and convert at the same time :/

virtualdub mod with avisynth would work just fine for that

NerdStrudel obviously you weren't following my problem. my file type isnt allowing me to use pan/crop to remove subtitles. Your jumping to conclusions is mentally retarded at best.

Probelm in Sony Vegas 7!!

Postby ino_shikamaru_evolution » Fri Aug 17, 2007 11:54 am

Hi. I have a problem. Whenever I try to use an effect such as Flicker, or Cookie Clutter, or even Grey Scale, it only works on the right half of the screen!
Screenshot of problem:
<img src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a87/japaneezgal/0problem.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

And Also, I'm sorta new and now whenever I try to use an effect like cookie clutter, my video preview disapears, making it really hard to perfect the effect.
The video preview only shows when there are no effects being adjusted or edited, only when I'm viewing the video.
How do I get it back?! :(

Thanks~

I'm trying to make an amv for the first time and this guide as been very helpful so far. I do have a quick question though.

Currently when i preview the first part of my amv it doesn't flow. For example in the preview section while the clip is playing it will get to the 356 frame and just display 356.. for a few seconds. This is kinda giving me problems editting. Can anyone help?

more than likely, your using a Codec that the Editor does not understand!

? can you convert that clip to a RAW state ? by doing that, it should now work 8-)

well.. it has to load preview sometimes. just keep playing through it and it'll flow smoothly. It'll usually stutter like that if you have an overlay or a fade or alot of effects or something. If you really wanna go the whole way you could render it to see if it works.

Sorry i'm a total newb and not to sure what you mean by converting it to a RAW state. Do you mean without subtitles?

I don't have many effects at all. The most i've done is just split parts of an episode. Could there be something wrong with the actual avi file? how do you heck if it has Divx?
