ugh, More reading, thanks but I am more of a mess around with something until it breaks or I find out what I am doing...Or I ask someone for help.

I at least want to play around with it. So when I read the manual and it says "route plug 13B into your thermal Quadular modual." I at least know what they are talking about.

Wonderful guide thanks!

I want to ask a more general question...I was wondering if there are anymore effects for Vegas outside of the standard built-in ones that come with the program. At my college they use Premiere Pro and they have 3rd party plugins that have some really cool effects, I was wondering if Vegas has anything similar thats free?

I've done some searching around and came up with some expensive software like
Graffiti and Boris FX are these worth the price to get? Thanks

Section IX: Double The Footage = Double the Fun

So now I'm gonna teach you more special tricks... this is how to perform double footage, aka, having two different scenes playing at the same time.

Then you go in and you mess with the settings I circled. X and Y axis is its position on the video.

THE SOURCE MUST BE THE WAY THAT I HAVE IT or it will NOT WORK.

This is just what I need for the video I'm working on. Is there a way to make one of the layers of footage float from bottom to top of the screen over the coarse of the scene? Kid of like a moving picture in picture effect. How do you do this?

By the way, thank you so much for the tutorial. It has helped TREMENDOUSLY. I've learned alot. :)

In the mean time, shoot out some stuff you want me to cover. Since, I can't think atm

I'd like to read about all the special effects that Vegas can do. Especially what I mentioned in my above post, as well as window breaking transitions, black & white screens, etc. You know, all the good stuff!? :D

You make black and white screens by using the Media Generator tab and selecting solid colors. I haven't been able to find any "window breaking" transition, but it's best to avoid since it's kinda... meh.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know how I can make the picture in picture (with the alternate footage) window move from one side to another during a scene?

Markers too.

You guys really need an edit button here. :? It's ironic a website about editing has no edit button.

I think you would use the Video Pan/Crop FX. Although I'm not too sure.

strobe......light?

explain, please?

I don't think I've ever come across anything 'strobe light' at all in vegas, but I really don't know exactly what you mean by 'strobe light' in the first place. o.O

you manually put in media generators each time you want the "light" to flash

there is no "drop in strobe effect" as far as i know
