Redemption Music

Postby FoolThemAll » Sun Jan 26, 2003 7:28 pm

Hey all, some of you might remember my first attempt at a music video, using clips from Memento and Finger Eleven's "Tip". Well, after giving up for a while, due to problems with Windows Movie Maker, I've given it another try. This time, I used Radiohead's "Exit Music (For a Film)" in conjunction with the Shawshank Redemption. I had to use clips of a lesser quality, due to divx slowing down Movie Maker. Also, I uploaded the 7MB version, as I don't have enough uploading space for the 47MB version. That's my whiny crybaby excuse for the poor quality of the clips. :)

If anyone's interested, I'll do a 1-for-1 review trade. I'll review yours first, then you can review mine. Here's the link:

Feel free to download the mp3s while you're there.

Dude.

Mind posting the link for a direct download of your vid ?

I waited almost an hour for your site to load and I had no luck.

As soon as it's done I'll review.

Just reply with the direct link in this post. I'll then download it from here.

Thanx

Cheers vir eers.

Thanks for your review. A few comments in addition to what I posted...

As for it being non-anime...unfortunately, that's the strange thing about my presence on this board. I had a sort of fallout with anime, and there's now only so much I can stomach. I love Cowboy Bebop, like Inuyasha, appreciated Ninja Scroll, but couldn't get into stuff like Neon Genesis Evangelion or Gundam Wing. I won't say for sure, but I don't think I'll be making an anime music video.

I'd say that I'm only doing it for fun, but I doubt anyone on this board isn't. More specifically, I'm simply doing it because I want to see how these movies and songs I love would look like combined. I accept the inevitable low scores that result from my lesser motivations.

Dude.

Sorry to hear about your fallout about anime.

But as long as it's fun that's fine. Do you have a dvd drive ? If so Get Absoute Destiny & ermac's guide and in it they will tell you how to rip dvd onto your hdd.

You can rent the movies you want to use, rip it and give it back next day.

that will already increase your score by miles. Also I think you can do alot with video footage even though it doesn't have the flare and explosions of anime. Just remember to have fuun while doing it then nothing is wrong about the movie.

Cheers vir eers.

No, unfortunately I don't have a dvd drive. But that wasn't the problem, anyway. I have limited access to divx movies, but they work too slowly on Movie Maker to preview. Which is strange, since they didn't for the first music video I made (which IS from a divx source). Is it likely that that program you spoke of in your review wouldn't have this problem?

Any editing program will have problems working from divx sources. You'll get some divx movies that works fine and other wount.

Get the guide I mentioned and red it from top to bottom. All is explained in there.
