WIP First 20 Seconds of FMA Beta

Postby guardiansoulblade » Fri Jul 10, 2009 9:43 am

I started a new FMA project (I know I just made one, but I haven't got all my other anime ready to make AMVs, LOL) But anyway. I finished the first 20 seconds of it, and decided that was a good enough amount of work to let you see what I'm doing, There are some things I'd like to know.

1. Did I do a good job syncing the clips with the song?
2. Did my scenes match the music?
3. Did it help that I wrote out how I wrote down what I wanted in a story board before I started (About half of what I wrote down made it in there) Does it make my AMV better?
4. Does my AMV have transition overkill, I used a lot of cross fades and fade to black and my notorious blinking synced to the music thing. Am I over doing it? Should I do more digital effects?

There are some lyrics that bug me, in regard to the clip I used, I need to know if the clip goes with the music, I've only done the intro and the first verse so far:

"Godspeed" by Anberlin
Burning down Neverland (scatter the ashes)
White lines black tar the matches
Is this another death by misadventure
Tell me what you got what you really got (hey hey)
We'll rest in our graves
Lexington course your veins (Maes Huges VS. Bald on train, should I change that or not)
Sleepers can't just wake the dead (Hughes and Gracia with Elicia, should I change this and use some of the Cemetery scenes, because I have that)
When needles and lovers collapse on guilty beds

Fall asleep
Don't fall asleep
Don't fall asleep

(They lied when they said the good died young)

They lied when they said the good died young
They lied when they said the good died young
Stay with me stay with me tonight

Burning down bridges now (scatter the ashes)
Godspeed to all you're after
Is this a life left just to remember
Tell them who you are who you really were (hey hey)
Kill yourself slowly over time fashion statement suicide
She's still asleep in a Chelsea hotel
Bad turns to worse and the worst turns into hell

Fall asleep
Don't fall asleep
Don't fall asleep

(God save the eyes that dim tonight)

They lied when they said the good died young
They lied when they said the good died young
Stay with me stay with me tonight

They lied when they said the good died young
They lied when they said the good died young
Stay with me stay with me tonight

They lied when they said the good died young
They lied when they said the good died young
Stay with me stay with me tonight

Well you kinda just slowed a bunch of scenes down and left them there. You could have hit beats much better. And when you switch scenes, you need some transitions, even if it's only a basic fade. Since I assume this is an action, I think you should hit more beats and quicken the pace, it's way too slow, partially because you slowed it.

*Hit more beats, like the drum beats or the guitar beats around 37-52. Add better and more transitions. Speed up the pace, don't get why your slowing them.*

Shit, it's just my computer that was lagging them making it look slowed... ignore that part but everything else is still the same.
