Alright, I'll op you. You can review my new Berserk/Needles video. Profile link:

Link to d/l:

Warning, the video contains some heavy spoilers of the series so if you haven't seen it and don't want it spoiled then do my escaflowne vid. Profile link:

Link to d/l:

That one also has some spoilers from the escaflowne movie though. But I mean, come on, everyone knows who's gonna win. I have a 56k and will post the op as soon as the d/l finishes.

Cool deal, and thanks for being brutally honest without adding any sugar. I added an opinion for your Escaflowne video too (re-edited it, so you might wanna check it again).

My god man... You went back and tore me a new one... Oh well. If you watch the movie you'll see the clips aren't random... And I definately put a good 14 hours into that video...

LOL, like I said, my respect for you shot through the roof so I decided to be myself...trust me when I say you dunno want to actually see my scathing side. Although anyone familiar with Usenet has probably seen it `, )

Actually you would have seen it if I had reviewed that first video you asked for an opinion, I just quietly set it aside though and moved onto the other one. o_O

Plus I was also judging your video in relation to my own skill and I kind of have a natural talent for it. Like with Beginings, most everyone thought that video was really incredible, givin me all 8's and 9's overall and heck, I didn't even put in 4 whole hours into the actual editing.

One thing that concerns me about my video is that depending on your system certain parts might seem "off" by a few hundreds of a millisecond. Like when I watch it on my system (a PII 233Mhz) there are a couple portions that I don't think match up that well. But when I sent it to my brother to review it (and we're talkin about the mr. universe of anal perfection) he said it looked flawless on his system (an Athlon 900Mhz).

Any thoughts on this? I suppose the only real solution is don't use a song and video that's going to need edits that require split second precision, format though also might have something to do with it, as well as what you're using to play it back and what else you have running on your system at the time.

Well I just got a new p4 1.8 gigz and there were parts that seem off, I don't think system performance makes a difference though, did you use different players?

Any you didn't like needles eh? I guess we just have a difference of opinion in vids. And trust me, you never wanna see my bad side either...

Have you ever actually seen Berserk? Cause that does make a huge HUGE difference with that video...

Nah, same player, I think it might also be a matter of perspective. I mean there were some minute parts that I originally thought were lined up perfectly in the video but then after I did some test runs other people were e-mailin me and tellin me that they were off. And it was sorta weird cause some people said move it forward a little while others were sayin to move em back a little. And then I found that most everyone thought the edits were near perfect after I reduced the first still images to an eighth of a second and the second still image flashes to a fourth of a second. The other problem is that if you listen really close to the music the "duh duh" parts aren't even equal throughout the song, some are faster while others are slower, more emphasized.

Any you didn't like needles eh? I guess we just have a difference of opinion in vids. And trust me, you never wanna see my bad side either...

He, he, he...actually I'd love to see your bad side, verbal sparring is one of my favorite pastimes, and I'm one of the best. I have to be careful though, a few times I've accidently gone too far and caused permanent and irreversable damage to groups and communities just by flaming. Usually results in quotes like the following:

"You enjoy manipulating people and situations in the on-line world on a level that is perverse and pathological (AND BEYOND REDEMPTION) For 3 years you have travelled from one end of the internet to the other building a reputation that is offensive by the most liberal of thinkers."

And that's one of the more positive quotes! ^_^

Posted an op for you

Postby BishounenStalker » Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:27 am

Posted an opinion on your vid, Mad_Hatter, and here's my link:

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=11855

The download may take a while since the vid is on FilePlanet, which has a line-based public FTP (only so many can be served at once, and you have to wait to actually start downloading. My advice is to download late at night when the servers aren't quite so busy). You'll also need to create a FilePlanet account if you don't already have one. Don't worry, it's free and takes maybe five minutes to set up.

Please please please give my vid a chance, and a review!
