heh... I'm uhhhh... well... pretty much a rookie. ^^;;; I'm not sure which avi codecs are good or not yet. I actually did compress it with one. It was originally about 4.6 gigs uncompressed.

divx or xvid if you leave it in avi format, mpeg2 or 4 for mpg format

Oh yeah, I wanted to ask about that!
DivX and Xvid arn't working for some reason.
Xvid just doesn't open,
and when I watch DivX files, they seem currupted. The scenes start perfect, then they kinda get really pixy and blurred and parts of the screen actually go faster or slower than the other parts. ^^;;; help maybe?

I use virtualdub

specs:
p4 2.6 gig processor

GeForce 4 TI 4600

1 gig ram

and a hard drive that's pretty full. only about a dozen gigs left.

I tinkered a little whith the two, and I got Xvid to work but when I encode whenever something moves it gets super blochy.
DivX now simply comes up black.

LOL. Yeah, the vid's quality is a whole lotter better in avi format. I originally had just the avi, but It seemed to big for that casual AMV fan, so I made the mpeg version. The only prob with that is I'm not very good at making mpegs. ^^;;

uh...hmm...hate to break it to ya, but I found the mpeg one to be a lot better looking than the avi. Try bringing the resolution down to 352x240, it'll probably look somewhat better.

Anyway, I'm gonna go write that opinion now..

Well, I tried what you told me. And I think that you know better than I do, because it's a smaller file and it looks the best. If you don't like it too bad. :P Also, If I get any more opinions like that, I'm going to have to think up a remastered version with a spiffier ending. ^^ Thanks man.
