Serial Experiments Lain - Fact or Fiction? (Don't be Silent)

Postby corrin_wyndryder » Mon Oct 06, 2003 3:15 pm

Hey, everybody. This is my first post on the boards, and I really need feedback.

I have recently, (that is, in the last few months) uploaded my two AMVs

<a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=20786">Lain - Fiction</a>
<a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=22063">Lain - Silence</a>

They're my first two videos, and I need opinions before I can make better ones. I've already found quality audio and video codecs to create better output, but I need opinions on my technique. Please, no flames, but constructive critiques are acceptable.

Please reply,
Corrin

Sorry folks, only one of the four videos I've downloaded had video that WORKED. If you don't have my opinion, then you know you've got a problem.

Sorry about that: you'll need to download the DivX codec from somewhere.....trust me a lot of videos on the site use XVid for their encoding, so it's a VERY worthwhile d/l....

I think I'm gonna start putting that in my vids profiles....maybe thats why I dont get too many star scale scores for all the hits i got...

I still don't know what the problem is. I downloaded the newest Divx and Xvid codecs and I still get nothing but weird green macroblocking. Sorry, but I won't critique a vid based on my own computer's mistakes.

And to Toji Fujawara, thank you for your opinion. I felt a little flamed by them, but I'm sure you were fair, honest, and open minded about it and not at all biased or prejudiced by my less than sastisfactory, but honest opinion of the video you requested me to watch.

And to XShadowSpiritX, thank you for your opinion as well. I'm glad my song choice for Sounds of Silence was to your aproval. But to clarify, I never said it was an MP3 or a download. I do own the Lain DVDs and the Simon and Garfunkle album on CD. I don't know how to get a better copy of sound than what I had. I hope my 3rd (currently undecided what) AMV will show continual improvement.

Sorry it's taking so long, guys. I'll get to your videos and post opinions as soon as possible. I've just been swamped with everything lately.
