My first release worthy vid...

Postby CoolMatty » Mon Feb 17, 2003 12:01 pm

At least, I hope its release worthy. It's for .hack//SIGN
It helps if you have watched the show, since the video isn't much of anything unless you know the story.

This vid is basically a beta. Its high-res, but pretty low filesize, compared to most videos. (3:45, 640x368 (WideScreen!), Divx 3.11Alpha, MP3 Audio codec, and only 28.4 MB)

Info is as follows:
Anime: .hack//SIGN
Song: .hack//SIGN OST 1 - Track 4 - Key of the Twilight
Software used: Adobe Premiere 6.5, VirtualDub.

Please give me any comments or suggestions on how I can improve the video. (More clips, I don't understand this clip/lyric, etc.)

Here's the link. (Max bandwith of 45 kb/s sorry bout that.) ftp://24.166.251.36/tryit2.avi

Here are some things I already plan on touching up:
Anti-aliasing some clips where the slow-motion goofed up the clip (the line stuttering, most noticeable in the first 30 seconds)
A couple bad entry points at the end (One showing a subtitle, and another where Tsukasa (real-life) shows for a split second)

And please, be honest and be hard on it. I plan on making this good. I also hope that it'll be remembered as one of the highest quality vids out there, thanks to my friend's dvds.

Oh, I forgot to mention, yes there is another song mixed in there at a point.

It's for dramatic effect. The song is also from the OST, its Aura, more specifically, the second repetition of the lyrics. You'll notice it when you hear it.

Reviewed, I'd like a review of my 2nd AMV Lovesick Signs beta video in return.

When judging the video quality, take into account it is a direction conversion from a .WMV video and is the exact same quality as if it was under 20 MB. :)

Sorry it took so long to get back to yours. I've been really busy. But I am in the process of reviewing the last 2 right now. Please review my VERSION 2 on the page. I just finished it, so I'd like some input on that. Thanks!

Gypsy: Can't review yours. My computer refuses to play XviD without crashing. So unless you want to send me another copy in a different format (Divx works fine, just XviD. I assume it has to do with its constant-debug status). Sorry, and I don't blame you if you don't review mine.

I had a similar problem. Uninstall Xvid and then re-start your pc. Re-install after the restart and all should be fine.

If this doesn't work Uninstall divX and xvid. Re-start and re-install First DivX 3.11 alpha, then any other divx's (from old to new) and install xvid last.

Cheers vir eers.
