Making black transparent in Premiere

Postby Swift_Warrior » Sat Jun 20, 2009 5:36 pm

So I have a footage where the background is entirely black but the foreground are cherry blossom petals, is there any easy way to just make it so the entire black background is just transparent and thus only showing the cherry blossoms so i can just layer it ontop of what i want the footage to be foreground of instead of rotoscoping in after effects frame by frame to get the cherry blossoms?

edit: nvm I figured it out, its Luma key

you'll probably get a cleaner result if you blend it in screen mode (calculations effect)
