How to make glass crack effect??

I've seen this kind of effect in many AMV/MAD...like:

as far as I know,5th and 6th were made by gunma san,may be created by 3DMAX(I doubt if the 6th was only by MASK in AE??)
Is anybody here know how to make the others??any program like Photoshop,AE,Illustrate,3DMAX,Maya...is OK.I really want to know...Image

the middle one is deffinately shatter in AE, not so sure about the other 2 (but I haven't played with shatter all that much,)

yea...the first idea came to my mind was "shatter"...but what I made was far away from the middle one...orz...look the edge,they are definitely different

just take a picture of a shattered window, or download an image of a shattered window. Apply it to the footage, play with the transfer modes and color correct it, then mask out each glass shard's inside and move it a bit around to give it that uneven look for your video

thanks...but it seems...ya...I got a better idea:
throw a brick at my window...then take a photo of it...Image
but...that may make my Mom be angry with me...so,I still wana make it with program...

you could always find you some cracked glass photoshop brushes, and then do what Ryko89 said

You can also apply your own pattern to shatter. It's just a bunch of black lines on a white background.

thanks...I've tried some PS brushes...but only use brush seems not enough...look:

the crack is not on the original picture...and there is no refraction effect at all... :(

its interesting... but what is when you ask the creator?
I want to know it by myself but i didnt saw such effect befor, the first looks really cool and good
