the title says it all.
How can you do a real sexy looking shockwave in AE?
I've tried some map displacement techniques and such, but can't seem to make it look hot. not even a little bit. so anyone?

well it depends exactly how you want it to look... a 3d one? 2d one like a ripple? try the wave or ripple effect (cant remember the exact name of it).

Trapcode Form might work though its mostly applied for "fluid, organic patterns, complex geometric structures and swirling stringy animations".
