Aura around character

Hey,

does anyone have an idea on how to make a aura around a character? just a plain black aura would be fine with me. i have something like the aura of hyoubu kyosuke from zettai karen children in mind, but if you don't know that something like the saiyan aura from dragonball would do just fine.
i only have after effects cs6.
i have 4 gigabytes of system memory and this processor

edit: sorry, seems like i didn't look good enough before. found a super saiyan aura tutorial on youtube easily. can't delete the thread tho :/

Hmmm. Try a mask maybe? And edit the feather color? Then place it back onto the original clip. It may work. I dunno.
