Spicemaster/NewBlue = overused? :<

Post by xPiikanyaa » Sun Sep 19, 2010 12:18 pm

Yeah, so I've been doing a lot of amv-watching on YouTube lately and noticed that nearly all the effect-whored videos i see use Spicemaster/NewBlue effects of some sort. I read the descriptions of some videos and a couple of people were saying stuff like "noooo, my spicemaster isn't working! my editing style is totally gonna die without it D8". Is it just me who thinks these plugins are becoming way too overused? I'm not saying it's a bad thing or anything but way too many editors seem to be relying on it to make good videos <_<"

Wrong location but yes. Generally plug-in's that generate 'oké' looking results with little to no effort get overused fast. And it is quiet sad that people rely on them.

I have them, but I rarely use them. Unless I need a coloring technique

Yeah I noticed that they seam to be popular right now. I don't know what they do, but I guess it can be generated with little effort and knowledge.

it makes me chuckle

It's Sony Vegas version of Andrew Kramer.

I used NewBlue a while back for some coloring but ever since it doesn't work anymore I'll just do the coloring without it. It's a little more effort but still okay.
So I really dont get all these comments where editors freak out about NewBlue or Spicemaster not working anymore :|

They're really popular at the moment, and I'm starting to get a bit tired of it. D:

I use them sometimes, usually it's the Newblue Smear effect or Classic Dissolve from Spicemaster. ;D
