Speaking of which, my theory about StarCraft II beta has been incorrect so far. The patch went live on Tuesday, and RealID is active. But no SCII Beta. Maybe it'll come next week when Ruby Sanctum becomes active? Who knows... I am done guessing at this point :P

BTW for those concerned, check out my RealID suggestion thread on the World Forums: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/threa ... 5560017218

Security is apparently a bit of a concern :awesome:

blizzard will be making forum posts display the user's realID (real first and last name collected from credit card information i believe). http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?to ... 5626109041

they report it is meant to reduce trolling by removing anonymity. unfortunately it's gonna drive helpful posters away too, and ultimately degrade the quality, usefulness, and accessibility of the forums. the forums, though not essential to gaming, are still an important attraction of the products. degrading official forums will make blizz's games less attractive against their competitors.

-All new menu sounds
-Cleaner/Sharper Options interface
-Mouse Cursor is blue and not green now
-Option to create an account right from the main screen
-Game version is now displayed in the lower left-hand corner

Also, it's got a nice new updating UI, as shown above. Woot :)

I almost boycotted the game since there is no LAN support. That was where I had the most fun with the original, since I suck ass against real people, so I enjoyed playing with my laid back friends and co-op against insane AI. Ironically, now we're far flung after college and don't really get together to LAN that much, but we all still want to play it, so I guess I can live without LAN support :>

That's what I do. I have a number of friends I DOTA with so naturally we will migrate to SC2. Also regardless of multiplayer, I'm dying to play the Single Player Campaigns.

Edit: Typical. Right after I post this, I log on to find the Beta is closed again (permanently) :(.

So buying the physical box with the physical CDs is apparently stupid since it still makes you download the game from the internet zdufhkdsgfdkj
(voicing a friend's frustration)

What do you mean you can't download the CE? I'm probably misunderstanding, but basically my CE version came with a DVD that took forever to install (like an hour) and was like 8 GB or so. It then logged onto B.net and patched.

I'm 6 missions in and loving it!

i mean you can't download the extra stuff you get with the ce box. the game is the same, whether you download it with a ce or the normal license.

Garylisk.260 here
I recently changed my battle net email address, it's an email JUST for battle net, so I don't post it anywhere. If ya want my RealID, let me know in private. For SCII, the Name.### should be sufficient.

This is not true. I've heard this from someone else, but it's not true. Make sure you check the tech support forums on starcraft 2 website, and make sure your battle net account is set up correctly.

If the game is installed from disc, you should only need 2 very small patches, they downloaded in roughly 2 minutes for me.

EDIT: The friend of mine who had this issue had been in the beta. I have not been able to confirm if he's fixed his problem since I'm at work, but I theorize that the beta client needs to be fully uninstalled before you install retail. Maybe it's causing this issue, I don't know. It's just speculation.
