In speed runs, of course most people won't be able to do it, but if you are going against basic ai, and predictable enemies.. what is so great besides you being able to map out the game.. that's what you are basically doing.
I use to be an addict when it came to watching speed runs. But then I realized that the ai or the programing of enemies were extremely shitty.
Then I realized after playing MW2, that even most of the best players are just winning off of the stupidity of others, kinda like the ai does to beat you..
I like versing a team that knows each other due to it being such a fun challenge, and I win against even some of the highest ranked people while I'm on a team of strangers just by understanding the simplistic strategies they use. And a lot of them suck at mixing their strategy up.
You know why? Go to joystiq, gametrailers, ign.. and check out all the damn complainers about how the game isn't balanced.. and how annoying snipers are. The good players know this is how a lot of people look at the game, and they win because of this.
Stop looking up guides, exploits and stop using just basic learned fps tactics.
For example. If you are a sniper.. I can just hang out in your hot spots with a shield, then my team will most likely win since you are use to dominating that spot. You are now going to die and I'll do nothing else but keeping you from using it. Looks like I'm doing nothing but hanging out in that one area but then explain why my team of randoms won? Because I stole your hotspots, and I'm not a kill, death ratio freak. That is ALL they talk about online... thats how they brag. But IMO You are not a team player.. you are the reason teams loose, especially if you are going to go against someone like me.. Everytime I win against these simplistic players, they start going off about KILL DEATH RATIO. And that's it!!... I mean come on.. I don't want you on my clan.. neither would my clan members.
If you use this strategy, someone who is use to racking up 100 or so kills will be stuck getting a lot less kills.
If a team switches strategy, I can tell pretty quickly and I will take out my custom classes. Like my kamikaze custom class. Rocket launchers, sticky grenades, grenade launchers, increased explosive damage and ammo pick up..... sometimes I'll turn on the faster reloading.. OUCH!!
If they are bunched together, I'll start getting multiple kills at one time. If I hear someone close I could just take out my sticky grenade and will drop it when I die, and if I'm using the extra explosive damage perk... you better run.
I've killed in a small room 8 people one at a time with the riot shield just by bashing them. With my sensitivity is all the way up they can't back stab. I had the melee distance perk on, so that helped a lot. I can hear the gunfire easily with surround sound tritton headphones, so I can dodge the fire easily. Run in a 45 degree angle and pay good attention to where your shield is getting hit, and you'll easily be able to run straight to a snipers hide away and kill him. You could also get close to him, then just hide so he's always on the look out for you. that is pretty fun and funny. I can tell if you are trying to hit me in the legs.. that will not work.. I can see you can get a shot at my head.. too bad I'm ready for that.
Now the fun part.. ninja time with surround sound headphones. I know where everyone is at every second in the entire map.. I can tell where shots are coming from and where the shots are hitting... good luck not getting stabbed in the back...
Understand the terrain, understand all the strategies, adjust your strategy when the other team changes their strategy, and you will win..
If you care about winning more than kill death ratio, and I'm versing you... stop being a sniper because you will die.. stop bundling up with your buddies because I will blow everyone of you up.
If you are short on ammo.. hold the sticky grenade.. it will not blow up until you die. And if you have last stand on.. you can get a perfect stick on the enemy without having to try. This will annoy every person you do this to. It is funny because people who think they are good at this game are just going to have their egos beaten up.
The less you care about kill death ratio,, the more you will piss off all the elitests in this game.
I mean, I joined in the middle of a game in progress, and every second after I spawned, I died. A guy had 120 kills and 4 deaths. My team didn't know each other and the other team was a full clan and had very high stats. Next match.. me starting from fresh.. the team was about to loose.. like a second or two away.. then the server timed out.. or something like that. Man these effers at half time were yelling at each other for not sticking to the plan.. lol..
Good luck.
........
Please give me names of video games that don't have extremely predictable ai.. I mean, I'm getting sick of making the ai do what I want it to do. A lot of games do have it so the ai seems good.. but really it's just good programing that will beat you if you keep trying to win doing repetitive attacks.. Most newer games I play have good programing.. but once you realize how the ai fights, you can win the games even on the hardest difficulty.
My new favorite game is Demon Souls. The bad guys do seem programed just to do random attacks.. but man.. that game doesn't apologize for shit. I play the game using only two daggers. If a bow comes at me.. I have to hit it away with split second timing.. holy hell I love it. And I won't kill a guy unless it's instant. You can push yourself over the limit playing games like this.. but that's the point if you want to get better. Don't use exploits, don't cheat and you'll be happier when you win the game.
