We had quite an adventure trying to see it at The Palms IMAX. It was sold out until 11pm and we were there at 4. So we bought tickets and then decided to hang out around the Las Vegas strip until the movie started. (which was fun, $5 18oz strawberry margaritas are awsm, and the Bellagio fountain display set to "Oh Holy Night" in Italian was spectacularly amazing). Then when we got back to the theater many hours later, we discovered that there was a LINE for the movie. (ugh).

But it was so worth it. We loved the movie, it was great. I was amused that "Eywa" sounded like "AWA", and I laughed nearly every time they said it. And the like "I didn't sign up for this shit" amused me as well. ("Bill? I didn't know you were in this movie!") We watched it in 3D, but I thought the 3D was fairly well done. After a bit of viewing, I wasn't even aware of it except for on some HUD-type stuff. I'd have to watch it in a regular theater before I could really say if it was better or not. Which I'd totally do, I'd love to see it again.

I went to a 3d Imax and honestly I could do just as well at home with my 24 inch monitor. I don't see what the deal is.

Of coarse I only got one eye, really, anyway lol...

I might have saw some on those really epic scenes like then their soaring through the air or when the 'congrigation' of aliens was all gathered around chanting. I THINK I might have saw something... but I might not have :| I think it's all in the head.

But then again!! I have a TERRIBLE case of lazy eye (doctors insist I'd be better off if they could just poke the darned thing out :/) so I was amused by the glasses :) my glasses are basically like that and if you take them off, that is what I see every day xD only my glasses aren't that strong and I guess only half of what those were since mine only has to deviate the light going into one eye, but... fuck I wanted a pair for myself to take home :).

Many commented that the previews actually showed the 3d effect MUCH better than the movie. Like Leonardo Dicaprio's space documentary that's coming out, those scenes were just stellar. I mean spectacular :). But I'd like it just the same on a BIG F*IN SCREEN anyway so... undecided. I also figured out that much of the emotional impact is due to the BIG F*IN SOUND lol. To describe that movie all I say is epic, epicly huge.

yeah stereoscopic 3d doesn't work if you can only see through one eye, you should have just gone to the 2d screening.

i saw the movie today. the artwork and cg were quite amazing, but the storyline was predictable, so it killed any element of suspense. it could have been much more emotionally moving if you didn't know what was coming next.

This movie was just Dances With Wolves meets Starcraft with lots of pretty effects.

Yeah, the guy sitting behind me made some crack during the credits about it being "a furry's wet dream". I chuckled.

Saw it in 3D and it was pretty sweet. Very enjoyable and was much better than i thought it would be
