Does anyone else think this looks pretty mediocre/bad? Honestly I was expecting something a little more original. Way into the future, humans have mastered the civil and technical feats of interstellar space travel, and we go to a planet to steal some rocks out from under some blue cats. GG humans.
And when the fuck are we going to get over 'space marine' syndrome? All these designs stem directly from Alien/Starship Troopers or some form thereof. It's really that far into the future, and we're still shooting chunks of lead at things, and wearing huge bulky metallic suits? Where's the biotech? Where's the nanotech? Where the fuck are the LASERS! Or better yet, fuck lasers, those are old and busted too. WHERE IS THE SHIT THAT WILL REPLACE THE LASERS?!?!?!
And heaven forbid we just throw out the weapons alltogether and go on a PEACEFUL MISSION to send an Avatar in and get to know the local flora and fauna. "Oh but there's no action in that, it wouldn't be entertaining" bullshit, hire the right writers. "But we wouldn't make any money" ah, you got me there. That's right, the public is pretty dumb, I forgot.
I won't judge this completely by the cover (despite having just done so). I mean, maybe the trailer is done the way it is to get people into the theater, maybe it'll be some amazing new masterpiece, maybe they didn't just really give away the entire story in the trailer. Maybe. I doubt I'll see this in theaters though.
