Your Top 3 "normal" Music Videos

Postby Yarry » Wed Aug 06, 2008 6:14 pm

Thought it could be interesting to see what "normal" music videos people of the .org liked since most of us are either AMV fansboys/girls or creators.

Anyway, post your top 3 (or just one or two) and a tiny explanation as to why you like the video.

Now let's see if this could be interesting.

Anyway, I'll start out with my top3 (of what music videos I know).

1. Human - Carpark North
Because of the cutting and supernatural-like effects. And the settings which kinda reminds of where I went to school.
2. Knights of Cydonia - Muse
Because of the countless references to scifi movies and because the story i funny :P
3. Fluorescent Adolescent - Arctic Monkeys
Nothing better than a clown beating up people.
Now post on and let's have a blast :D Perhaps we end up finding something we hadn't seen before and found awesome.

You didn't even follow your own guidelines. You said explain why and you didn't. if you can't even follow your own rules man, I don't know what to think.

Oh yeah, was a bit too quick. Thought I'd put it indepth after the post, but I guess that'd be too dull.

Corrected.

I thank you for your less rude correction compared to the previous ass who trashed the thread without showing the slightest interest or adding anything constructive to the topic at all.

Something Duran Duran pre 1985

Something Abba (which is basically pre 1985)

Something Rush pre 1985

None of the f**king shit made in 15 years for the most part especially if it features female black dancers painted into shorts that look like sluts and additionally anything where the word "rap" or "hip hop" or known variations apply.

Finding a decent mainstream music video these days, is harder than finding an original Naruto concept amv on My Tube. Simply isn't worth the effort.
Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.

I don't watch a lot of "normal" music videos, but here are some neat ones off the top of my head that I recall gambitt mentioning.

Fujiya & Miyagi - Ankle Injuries

DVNO - Justice

(list of logos spoofed)

And in response to inthesto...
"Weird Al" Yankovic - White & Nerdy

Thanks for the reminder doki.

An (almost) INTELLIGENT rap video, by a mainstream rapper, no less:

Granted, he says some fairly harebrained things, but god dammit at least he tries.

Never heard about Fujiya & Miyagi, but the video is pretty awersome :D Justice I know, but have only seen their music video to D.A.N.C.E which was a pretty cool music video, just like this one :D.

White and Nerdy, definitely the best rap (sort of) video ever.

I must admit on the subject of rap I pretty much share Sukunai's views. But those videos aren't that bad, considering what's out there of black women shaking their booty while some rapper with too much blingbling tries to act tough.

Anyway, keep them coming :)

This has been one of my favourite vids for about 25 years (because I'm old):

They don't make good "story" videos like they did in the early 80's when MTV actually SHOWED videos. Damn kids. Mumblegrumble....

With this one, I loved the fact that they match the audio elements in the song to visual themes:

http://tinyurl.com/28daqa

I can watch that one until my face falls off.

And this is also one of my all-time favourites, because I'm a big nerd and love the combination of techno, anime and gaming.

And I know you said three, but this is my favourite song of all time, and I love the "Planet Earth" theme of the whole thing. If there was ever a worthy successor to Simon Le Bon, it's Courtney Taylor-Taylor. That boy can pout so prettily...

That was plain weird :P Entertaining nontheless.

Regarding Daft Punk I like their animated videos/stories better, and regarding song I love Aerodynamic and Stronger, Faster Harder, Better (or what it's called). But Around the world is definitely a classic.

I'm actually Amazed. I never liked Justin Timberlake very much, but I must give credits to his video. Quite awesome. Although I guess you'd have to make good videos when you're more of a mainstream name.

The Grouch aswell. Probably the best rap video I have ever seen (Not that I've seen many). Loved his use of colours and effects :D The Grouch's video is going into my bookmarks for future references :D
