Oh so our government likes us enough to look after us and that makes it communist?

It does to the sort of people who think "socialist" is a killing insult.

Nothing for the people, everything for mother corporation.

Hypercapitalism needs to happen and it needs to happen now. I wanted to be a street samurai when I grew up....

This topic needs more capitalism. Damn commies are winning the war on democracy.

All you get with democracy is a country full of opinion, and no one interested in deciding on a decision soon enough.

I bet the US would do better with a King.

If he acted like Bush, you could just kill him and try a new king.

But ooooooooh no, you had to have a democracy, and now look at where you are.

Nearly 300 million opinions about which useless fucking party you should vote in that you can blame for everything by the next weekend.

At least a king would be able to just do what he wanted to do, and if he was too stupid he lost his life.

Opinion in politics is not always a profitable thing.

And you could just turn all the corporations into nobility (might as well considering the way they live and the way they act).
I mean, what's the difference between Mr Bill Gates, and Duke Gates eh. From where I stand there's no difference.
He could still donate all the money he does and be a nice guy noble. Not all nobles need be assholes.

We can already do that. That's what the 2nd amendment is really for - it ensures the people the means to violently overthrow the government.

Funnily enough, despite being a monarchy in name, modern British government is a republic in nature. The Queen is a figurehead with essentially no political power.

Despite a lot of people whining, the majority of us actually agree with Bush, if somewhat subconsciously for some people.

I find that easy to disagree with :)

You might as well suggest that Harper is secretly liked by most Canadians too.

Bush had someone throw a grenade at him. He also had a huge airplane aimed at his house.

Clinton had someone shoot up his house. Someone else actually managed to crash a small airplane in his house. And of course there's the entire impeachment thing.

The first Bush had an Iraqi plot to kill him.

Reagan was actually shot. Jody Foster was not impressed though.

Ford survived an assassin only because a bystander stopped the gunman (and as a consequence was outed as a homosexual and killed himself. We don't take kindly to someone saving the president...)

Nixon was hounded out of the Whitehouse and for awhile was in serious risk of spending significant time as a prison bitch.

IIRC no one tried to kill Johnson but we did pester him so much that in a huge fuck you to America he told us that after his first term he was going to take his ball and go home.

We killed Kennedy. *BOOM HEADSHOT*

Ike seemed liked and I'm not aware of anyone trying to off him.

As you can see you gotta go back over 50 years to find a president who someone didn't try to kill or hound out of office. The problem here isn't that we aren't trying, it's that most people just don't have all that great of an aim.
