Gary Gygax dead at 69

Post by Mithroch » Tue Mar 04, 2008 4:50 pm

For those who haven't heard, Gary Gygax, considered by many to be the father of the Role Playing Game, died at his home earlier this morning.

He's rollin' 20s with God now...

That's not thunder you hear, that's the sound of The Great DM rolling for damage...

Heh... that was actually the first thing I said... but then I got all sad. Role playing games have had a big impact on my life. Most of my social circles revolve around one form of gaming or another... but my closest friends are my D&D group.

Well, at least he was at the perfect age to die. I only hope I can survive long enough to do the same.

70-80....Dismayed
81-85....Engraged
86-95....Grief-stricken
96-99....Cast into a black pit into which no light or joy can enter

Part of me hopes his will reads like a loot table.

13 - Unimpressed.
