The handwriting topic

Postby inthesto » Mon Jan 07, 2008 2:06 am

Post a sample of your handwriting because dj_ultima was talking about it, and I get to make fun of her for not having donator's status.

And you can all make fun of how ridiculously messy my handwriting is.

I actually used to use that style when I wanted to disguise my handwriting

Needless to say, I dropped it within a month

Almost anything I write is done with a computer. Even notes and the like, that's what notepad is for. Here's an example of the only time I actually write anything by hand anymore:

Good luck on figuring out my name from this.

My scanner is broken and the only example I could find was on this picture I drew once:

Although unlike Brad, I don't usually write in all caps. This was an exception

You draw stupid girly hooks in the place of manly slanted lines on your Chinese characters/kanji.

Also, I can't believe I had to spend fifteen minutes to look up the word "sound"

Any of you other guys forget how to write in cursive? I mean I can still do my name and stuff (kinda, i usually just make up some bullshit scribble for the 'z'), but for the most part I can't really write much in cursive anymore. Isn't that the most useless form of writing ever created? It doesn't even make any sense, because EVERYONE writes it differently, and then you cant read shit that anyone wrote if they wrote it in cursive.

when I grew up I just kinda strung all the letters together for "cursive" but I don't even really sign my name in cursive...

Actually, I never even learned how to write cursive :o Which is especially ironic seeing how I originally learned to write in Russian and Russian schools are very particular about teaching cursive. However I was too smart to go with the flow, and although I made some half-hearted attempts to learn it in my first three years of school, by grade 5 I said "fuck it" and started printing everything. And I mean it's not just writing - I just have atrocious hand-eye coordination in general. Not that it bothered me, and fortunately the content of my writing always made up for it for teachers who had even half a brain :P

Sto, lay off my attempted azn. Jasper's made fun of my kanji enough already.
Guy - fuck off plz :?

From my experiences, teachers up to like 7th grade had a stick up their ass regarding it. Afterwards, most wanted you to print everything. My printing sucks anyways, so even now I dread the exams for my random electives (they know enough within the CS department to not ask us to write stuff out by hand) because i'm never able to write anything legible.

When I was in fourth grade, the school forced us all to write everything in cursive. I have no idea why they did that other than to exercise abitrary power over us. Then when I switched school in the middle of the year, I kept writing in cursive out of habit, and the teacher actually had to force me to stop writing in it because it was so bad.

Penmanship is so overrated.
