My 1st Photo Essay Thingy

Postby Beowulf » Sat Dec 29, 2007 7:46 pm

Necessary Prolog:

My mother runs a schoolhouse. Just recently, a dear friend of hers was diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal cancer. Of course, this is earth shattering news for everyone. This friend wanted my mom to be with her for the doctors and meetings and big decisions that go along with finding out you have less than 6 months to live.

The photos below are of my mom having to call all the parents of the kids that go to the schoolhouse she teaches. She told them all that she wouldn't be at the school and that she was sending a substitute in her stead. My mom lives in a small town and everyone knows everyone, so these photos are her breaking the news to the parents.

Hope you like them.

Oh my gosh. That was really quite beautiful, in a painful and tragic way.

I am sorry for you mother, and I wish her well.

Deep! Definitely a case of where knowing the context really changes how you look at the details here.
