Game / Anime / Movie News

Postby EvaFan » Sat Jul 14, 2007 12:41 am

A topic for posting interesting news people might not know about...

I just found out recently that the director of Silent Hill the Movie will not be directing the second (Yes there will be a #2), he's been given another job of directing a movie to the game series "Onimusha" with a 50ish million dollar budget. I'm expecting some good results  Especially if they incorporate Dawn of dreams into it some how, that game was freaking awesome.

I couldn't stand the Silent Hill movie. Sorry, but it was easily the worst movie I've sat through for a long time.

You must not sit through a lot of movies.

To be fair, while I can find worse things to see than the Silent Hill movie usually they're in the wondertwins profiles instead of the movie theater.

I'm not saying it was a great movie, but it wasn't that bad, especially as far as video game adaptations go. And I'm a huge horror movie fan (no, I don't think they're scary, or even supposed to be), so I guess I'm a little biased. It's not one of those movies that you can just laugh at the whole way through, because there's some reason in most of the character's actions. The story's just a little ridiculous, and the acting is... par. Par for Hollywood. Cinematography and score were great though.

What he said. Silent Hill is the best horror series in gaming because of the atmosphere and they did a good job in attempting to replicate it.

Oh, and Pyramid Head. you can't go wrong w/ Pyramid Head.

I have extremely high expectations for this game, I'm just hoping the gameplay is as good as the cinematics and graphics. The screenshots are beautiful.

Expected release: 8/12

Hopefully it will finally bring the PS3 out of the hole its been burried in.

The only good thing about the movie was the cinematography and pyramid head.

Unfortunately the acting and the plot was awful. I'd have to disagree about the atmosphere as a whole because, really, the town was just plain empty half the movie. Most of the time it felt pretty safe and there was no tension as they just wandered around the streets. My favorite scene was the initial dark alleyway scene and it all just went downhill from there. I probably would have laughed my way through it if I wasn't busy getting annoyed at the character's actions and the unrealistic plot. The ending just kept dragging on, and it just wasn't enough to keep me from getting bored to tears by the end of the movie.

I have a hard time thinking of many other movies I can truly say that about. I'll stop ranting though.. I've said my piece...
