experimenting on my class

some of you in #amv already know the story.

i give my final presentation on wednesday. some students do videos, but nothing visually impressive. just imovie usually.
this is a graphic design class. we barely touch on video at all. it's more of an option if we have time.

i don't really remember how this idea got started, but this is pretty much what i'm doing:

i'm going to make a really really shitty FX video, show it during my presentation, and see if they think it's awesome or total crap. lensflares, ayato, particular presets, shine, ect.

will people not involved with video at all be blown away by this crap, just because it looks like it was hard to do or it looks shiny?
or being graphic artists, will they have an eye for design, and know that these FX don't contribute to the video in any positive way.

students give critiques after presentations here, and i'll be sure to ask other students individually what they though of the video afterwards.
then i'll post how they reacted to the video here.

next on my checklist is having song lyrics displayed with shine.
i'm also open to requests for easter eggs and suggestions for cheesy effects

I'll tell you exactly how it works out, I've already done this on my class before. Actually, I just did a short 5 minute documentary with lens flares, crappy Premier Pro transistions, and some really crappy masking. They were blown away in amazement, and I made a 110/100. After that, I just kept doing that, and making "excellent" performances that prove how hard I work on my classwork.

But I'm looking forward to Minon's results.

i got an applause after the video, and my teacher yelled something like "excellent!".

i get the review sheets some of them wrote tomorrow. if it mentions the video i'll post that.

but ya, they were totally blown away. i didn't quite keep a straight face, but i managed to not laugh
