Got this on DVD...Children of Dune miniseries (2003). Excellent cinematography. Surprisingly well done plot and character development. Btw, it's NOTHING like the '84 Dune movie, for those of you unfortunate enough to have seen that.

Also, to whoever recommended Little Miss Sunshine, thanks, I enjoyed! Funny in that cynically realistic way.

Spider was pretty good too. :) Polanski's The Tenant is another weird little film that I forgot to mention in my last post.

You know, I haven't seen that one yet...I'll have to check it out! :D

Indeed...The Fly was a great remake, and The Dead Zone is still one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations.

Also, to add to the Cronenberg list, Scanners wasn't too bad, and The Brood is another one of his earlier films that just disturbed the hell outta me the first time I watched it. :P

So after watching Equilibrium, I am thoroughly convinced Christian Bale makes a far better Neo than Keanu Reeves.

Ricky-oh - bloody gory kung fu fest where spines get crushed in the MIDDLE of a fight, and the character still gets up.

Army of Darkness - "Good Ash, bad Ash, I'm the guy with the gun".

Meet the feebles - This is a truly life changing movie.

Haha, as I keep saying... you picked the wrong one to start with. In fact I didn't mention it in my original post for that very reason.

On Tarkovsky, it's best to start with one of the three I mentioned. Zerkalo would be my personal favorite.

Just finished watching one of the movies on my "to-do list" - Stalingrad. Brutal, harsh and well - meaningless, which in an [anti-]war movie is exactly what I'm looking for. There are a few points when it feels a little contrived, a few points where where the acting is under- or over-done, but all in all - damn, the Germans still make the best war movies. It's also a relief to see a proper movie done on the Stalingrad theme after the total shit that was Enemy at the Gates (don't mind me, I hate that movie with a passion for its 'theme park' version of history).

I saw Spiderwick tonight, and that was pretty awesome. Birdeater guy totally stole every scene he was in.
